The Information Exchange is a charity that exists with the principal objective of running and developing an information service to serve the needs of people with disabilities and health conditions, be they long or short term. In this way, the Information Exchange aims to ensure that disabled people living in the Bailiwick of Guernsey, their carers, and those who work with them, have easy access to up to date and relevant information to improve their quality of life. The service is based in a centre that is professionally run and creates a friendly and welcoming call-in service operated in a confidential and caring manner. The Centre is also the base for an information service that can be accessed via telephone contact, fax, and email and with a web site on the Internet. The service is provided to a high standard with regular and reliable opening times. The service is continuously developed to maintain its relevance and the accuracy of the information provided in response to changing technologies and the needs of clients both from the local professionals and end users. This work is only successfully done because the staff have an understanding of, and a commitment to the needs of people with a wide range of disabling conditions.
